AstraLabs aims to update how we approach Software Product Assurance in complex space projects. All too often, the price of strict compliance is reduced functionality or delayed insight into mission-critical flaws, if not abandoned projects altogether.

So why not validate your concept, verify procedures, and assess the safety and mission-critical aspects before investing hundreds of hours of coding and certified hardware, only to discover that you overlooked something? Especially if it was easily fixable at an early stage?


Currently, the solutions available on the market require a cumbersome process of designing your testbed, which involves defining, designing, and then ordering the necessary components. After that, there’s only one more hassle: getting it to the soon-to-be-deorbited ISS (ice cubes) or finding a platform that will host your device in orbit. You might discover additional solutions from the big players, but they are only suitable for large organisations.

We observe the growing demand for testing in a real environment, but the market lacks a scalable and accessible solution. This is important for two reasons. First, conduct quick verification and validation before investing significant money in developing costly parts of the project. Second, the demanding standards for Quality Control and the compliance with National Agencies set a precedent for the need for a new approach. Modern tech does not follow the demands of the past.
